Hey Reader,
After more than 4 years in “business”, we’ve decided to shift our focus and form a non-profit sector of Change YOUniversity. This shift is very significant in that it represents the “heart” of Change YOUniversity. Our primary focus has always been to serve the men and their families that God brings our way. As a non-profit, our dream is to serve everyone who shows a desire and the motivation to change, regardless of their financial means. God is already putting a lot of the pieces in place, and in the coming months, we will formally announce Change YOUniversity, a non-profit. If you’d like to donate, my church has opened the door to collecting tax-deductible donations by going here.
A Note from Daniel
Praise the Lord, our 1st newsletter! God has done so much over the past many months, and I would like to share with you what has been happening. Since I made the decision to fully trust the Lord and become a full-time missionary for Change Youniversity, God has shown us very clearly that what we are doing is ordained by Him. The opportunities that have been given to us, have led us to discover new paths that we believe the Lord has us to follow. God allowed me to meet with an elder of a client that is interested in learning more about Change Youniversity and how they might be able to help those in their community. He also allowed me to meet with a church to share my testimony and our vision. They chose to support me and the work that God has called me to do.
He then allowed me to meet a pastor that has been in the ministry for 40+ years. This pastor shared that he has been seeking answers and change in his own life for many years. The Lord made sure we got together, and the timing of our meeting was perfect. He shared that it is a struggle for him as a pastor to have a safe place to share the difficulties in his own life. He has chosen to allow me to pour into him weekly and to provide a safe place for him to share. As he continues each week to share many details of his life, the Lord continues to make it clear that there are many more pastors all over that need a safe place to share. We can and will provide a safe place for pastors to share and seek healing for the many things that trouble them.
The people that God has brought into our lives have been very instrumental in helping us begin our journey. We want to thank the Lord for bringing us the right person at the right time to join us in our mission to help bring healing to those in need. The Lord has also led multiple individuals and a church to support us financially each month. We are so excited to see the Lord working as we choose to follow His leading.
As we continue to seek monthly support to help us provide for our operational needs, we also have some specific needs. If you feel led to support us monthly or wish to support one of our specific needs, please click here.
Some of our specific needs include:
• Client tuition sponsorships (5 current clients needing a scholarship)
• Coach training tuition sponsorships (5 current CT’s needing a scholarship)
• A salary for me that will meet the needs of my family
• Travel expenses to meet with churches and share our ministry
I want to thank everyone that has been praying for me, praying for Change Youniversity, and praying for our clients. I want to thank everyone that has committed to giving each month to support the work that will help, bring healing to many families, and break generational curses.
Daniel Cabral
Change YOUniversity Missionary
I’ve learned so much since I started Change YOUniversity. When I started, I wholeheartedly believed that marriages would be saved, that if the man became healthy the wife would choose to reconcile and marriages would be restored. After coaching hundreds of men and watching them change we’ve seen several marriages “reconcile”, but almost never permanently. The husbands slowly drift back to old patterns while most of the wives never did the hard work to change. Before you know it, you have two un-whole people trying to create a whole marriage and a whole family. It doesn’t work. Two halves don’t make a whole. I call it God’s math. Let me explain.
and the two shall become one.. Mark 10:8 GNT
Mathematically, two different people (1 and 1) can only become 1 through multiplication, not through addition. God's math is multiplication, not addition.
1+1≠1
1*1=1
Bear with me. If God’s math is multiplication, then what happens when one person in the marriage becomes whole (e.g. 1) and the other person isn’t whole (e.g. ½)? The two become ½!
1*1/2=1/2
But what happens when neither person is whole? The world would have you believe that two halves become a whole. This is simply not true. Two halves don't become a whole, two halves become half of a half which is one quarter!
1/2*1/2≠1
1/2*1/2=1/4
God’s math perfectly describes what we’ve seen in Change YOUniversity.
Marriages can be restored, but only if each person in the marriage becomes and remains whole. If not, it’s just a matter of time until marriages fail
Change YOU is all about helping our men become whole by changing themselves first, then influencing everyone they interact with to change.
Changed people changing people
We’ve discovered that the path to becoming whole almost always starts with identifying and resolving the trauma issues that were almost always created in our childhood. And we’ve discovered that if the trauma isn’t resolved, we can never be whole.
Trauma that was caused by relationships can only be healed through relationships
And that’s the secret sauce of Change YOUniversity. Almost every man that comes to Change YOUniversity is all alone. Just like I was all alone 25 years ago, they, too, are alone. Mark 2:3-5 perfectly describes why Change YOUniversity is so incredibly effective at bringing permanent healing.
And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:3-5 NASB 1995
Four men with faith in Jesus carried the paralytic, and it was because of their faith that his sins were forgiven.
When men come to Change YOUniversity, they are no longer alone. Our coaches carry them until they can carry themselves, because every coach has been where they are, and every coach was carried by men before them to a path of permanent change and healing.
Thank you for the opportunity to share what’s on my heart about Change YOUniversity. God is beginning to open new doors for us and we are choosing to obediently follow Him. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you’d like to learn how Change YOUniversity can partner with you to bring permanent healing.
